Know all men by these Presents that I DEWHURST BILSBORROW of the County of Derby Bachelor of Medicine am held and firmly bound to THOMAS KEY and THOMAS CLEAVE Church wardens and WILLIAM CLEAVE and GEORGE MENHINNICK Overseers of the Poor of the parish of Saint Breock in the County of Cornwall in the sum of One Hundred Pounds of Good and lawful Money of Great Britain To be paid to the said THOMAS KEY THOMAS CLEAVE WILLIAM CLEAVE and GEORGE MENHINNICK or their certain Attorney Executors Administrators Successors and Assigns for the payment whereof I bind myself, my Heirs Executors Administrators and each of them firmly by these Presents Sealed with my Seal Dated this Sixth day of August in the forty ninth year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the third by the Grace of God of the United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland King Defender of the Faith &c and in the Year of our Lord One Thousand eight hundred and nine.

Whereas SARAH LIGHTFOOT of the said Parish of Saint Breock Single Woman hath lately been delivered in the said parish of a male Bastard Child chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Breock and by her voluntary examination taken on Oath the (blank) day of (blank) before (blank) one of his Majesty’s Justices of the Peace for the said County of Cornwall hath charged the said DEWHURST BILSBORROW being the father of her said Child Now the Condition of the above written Obligation is such that, if the above bounden DEWHURST BILSBORROW his Heirs Executors Administrators do and shall from time to time and at all times hereafter so long as the said Bastard Child shall be chargeable to the said Parish of Saint Breock well and truly pay or cause to be paid to the said Churchwardens and Overseers or their Assigns for the time being the weekly sum of Two shillings and six pence as and towards the Maintenance Education and bringing up of the said Bastard Child then this Obligation to be paid otherwise to remain in full force and virtue.
