Will of Peter Richards, dated 2 July 1731

In the Name of God amen I Peter Richards of the Parrish of Breage in the County of
Cornwwall Yeoman being sick and weak but of sound and perfect mind memory and Understanding
thanks be Given to Almighty God for the same doe make and Ordaine this my Last Will and
Testament in manner and forme following (that is to say)
Imps I Bequeath my Soule into the Hands of Almighty God that Gave it and my Body to the Earth to be
decently Buried in a Christian like Burile at the discretion of my Executrix herein after named
Item I Give Devise and Bequeath unto my Dear beloved Mother four pounds yearly to be paid her by
Quarterly payments during her Natural Life which said four pounds is to be paid her by
my Executrix out of the Tenement of Treas within the parrish of Cury if the Estate which I now
have therein Shall Soe long Continue
Item I Give Devise and Bequeath unto my sisteer Mary Deeble Stephen Deeble John Deeble Stephen
Deeble and Haniball Deeble Sons of the said Mary Deeble and Stephen Deeble Two shillings and
sixpence Each to be paid them respectively by my Executrix within the Space of Three Months
after my death
Item I Give Devise and Bequeath unto my Dear beloved wife the said Tenement of Treas Togeather
with all rent and Arrearages of Rent that Shall be due at the time of my death (subject only
to the payment of the above said sum of four pounds) But in Case my said Wife Shall be
Ensient or with Child at the time of my Death then my Will is that such Child or Children if
more than one Shall be brought up and Educated According to the discretion of my Said Wife
and that Such Child or Children Shall hold and Enjoy the One half of my Goods Chattles
Credits and Effects of what Nature kind or Sort Soever the Same be Jointly and Togeather with
my Said Wife Share and Share alike But in Case Such Child or Children Shall happen to dye
before he she or they shall respectively Attain the age of One and Twenty Years that then the
Said Tenement of Treas and all the rest of my Goods Chattles Credits and Effects Shall be
and remaine to the use and behoofe of my said Wife as her Goods and Chattles forever
whom I doe make constitute and Appoint whole and Sole Executrix of this my Last Will
and Testament In Witness whereof I have hereunto Sett my hand and Seale this second day
of July Anno Dni 1731
