Will of Ann Julia Wallis dated 12 April 1870

THIS IS MY LAST WILL AND TESTAMENT of me ANN JULIA WALLIS of the Borough of Bodmin in the County of Cornwall Spinster I give and bequeath unto my niece JULIA WALLIS the daughter of my late brother Christopher my gold watch and chain and the seals attached thereto I give and bequeath unto my friend Mrs Admiral Basden my spangled gold chain I give and bequeath unto my sister Louisa Morshead all my wearing apparel and the miniature portrait of my late father I give and bequeath unto my nephew Preston James Wallis of Bodmin aforesaid Solicitor ALL my plate china and table linen and the portrait in oil of my late father and also my large diamond ring and the ring set in pearls containing the hair of my late father ALL the rest residue and remainders of my estate and effects I give and bequeath unto the said Preston James Wallis upon trust to convert the same into money and in the first place to pay thereout all my just debts and funeral and testamentary expenses and in the next place to pay to my cousin Louisa Isabella Margaretta Houseal of Bodmin aforesaid Spinster during the term of her natural life the clear yearly sum or annuity of £20 by equal quarterly payments the first of such payments to be made at the expiration of 3 calendar months next after my decease and after the death of the said Louisa Isabella Margaretta Houseal to pay a like yearly sum or annuity of £20 unto my sister the said Louis Morshead during the term of her natural life by equal payments at the time and in the manner above mentioned for her own sole and separate use independently of her present or future husband and free from his debts and engagements and I do declare that the receipt alone shall be a sufficient discharge to my executor and subject to the payment of the said annuity in manner above mentioned and after the death of both of them the said Isabella Margaretta Houseal and Louisa Morshead to stand possessed of the residue of proceeds of my estate and effects In Trust for Preston Gilbert Wallis son of the said Preston James Wallis and to apply the same for the benefit ? and advancement in life of the said Preston Gilbert Wallis in such manner as the said Preston James Wallis shall from timer to time think fit or expedient AND I do hereby appoint the said Preston James Wallis sole EXECUTOR of this my will IN WITNESS whereof I have hereunto subscribed my name this 12th day of April 1870

Signed and declared by the said Ann Julia Wallis the Testeatrix as and for her last will and testament in the presence of us present at the same time who at her request in her presence and in the presence of each other have hereunto subscribed our names as witnesses

THE DISTRICT REGISTRY OF BODMIN
IN HER MAJESTIES COURT OF PROBATE
BE IT KNOWN that on the 15th day of September 1871 the last will and testament, hereunto annexed, of Ann Julia Wallis late of Bodmin in the County of Cornwall Spinster deceased, who died on the 4th day of August 1871 at Bodmin aforesaid was proved, and that administration of all and singular the personal estate and effects of the said deceased was granted by the aforesaid Court to Preston James Wallis the Nephew of the said deceased the sole executor named in the will he having been first sworn well and faithfully to administer the same, by paying the just debts of the deceased and legacies contained in her will and to exhibit a true and perfect inventory of all and singular the said estate and effects, and to render a just and true account thereof whenever required by law so to do
