Will of William Rowse dated 20 May 1885
 

This is the last Will and Testament of me William Rowse of Lancarffe in the parish of Bodmin retired farmer. I give and bequeath the proceeds or full amount or value of my Life Policy in the Standard Assurance Office in the following manner or proportions that is to say provided the sum now due about three hundred and thirty pounds be paid in full. I give unto my daughter Maria Hoar the sum of one hundred pounds. I give to my daughter Eliza Robins one hundred and fifty pounds. To my daughters in America namely Jane Stephens of Delaware and Mary Ann Billings of Ohio ten pounds each. All the rest residue and remainder I give and bequeath unto my wife Jennifer and appoint her sole Executrix of this my last Will and request that my son William shall assist her with regard to the administration of my effects and also direct that the legacies above-mentioned shall be paid to the legatees within one month after the same has been received by my Executrix.
As witness my hand to this my last Will this twentieth day of May one thousand eight hundred and eighty five.

Signed and delivered by the said William Rowse the testator as and for his last Will in the presence of us who in his presence and in the presence of each other and at his request have hereunto set our names as witnesses.

Proved at Bodmin the 30th day of September 1885 by the oath of Jennifer Rowse widow the Relict the sole Executrix to whom administration was granted.
The Testator William Rowse was late of Lancarffe in the parish of Bodmin in the County of Cornwall Retired Farmer and died on the 7th day of August 1885 at Lancarffe aforesaid.
