Settlement Paper for Thomas Legoe, dated 7 August 1764
 

Borough of Bodmyn. We the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the Borough of Bodmyn aforesaid do hereby certify own and Acknowledge that Thomas Legoe Catherine his Wife Catherine Legoe aged about Nine Years Jean Legoe aged about seven years Isabella aged about five years & Elizabeth aged about two years his Daughters to be Inhabitants Legally Settled in the said Borough. In Witness whereof we have hereunto set our hands and seals the seventh day of August in the year of our Lord One Thousand Seven Hundred and sixty four

We whose Names are hereunto subscribed, two of his Majesty’s Justices of the Peace in and for the said Borough of Bodmyn do allow of the above written Certificate and do also certify that Edward Sawdy one of the Witnesses who attested the same .... Oath before us the said Justices that he the said Edward Sawdy did .... the Churchwardens and Overseers of the Poor of the said Borough whose Names and Seals are thereunto subscribed and set severally sign and seal the same and that the .... Edward Sawdy and Henry Frankland ....
