THIS INDENTURE made the 24th day of March in the year of our Lord 1835 BETWEEN JOSEPH HAMLEY of the Borough of Bodmin in the County of Cornwall Esquire of the one part and William Courtenay of Walreddon House in the County of Devon Esquire and Samuel Wriford of the said Borough a Commander in His Majesties Royal Navy of the other part WITNESSETH that for and consideration of the sum of 5/- of lawful of Great Britain by the said William Courtenay and Samuel Wriford to the said Joseph Hamley in hand well and truly paid at or immediately before the sealing and delivery of these presents the receipt whereof is hereby acknowledged He the said Joseph Hamley HATH bargained and sold and by these presents DOTH bargain and sell unto the said William Courtenay and Samuel Wriford there executors administrators and assigns ALL that messuage or dwelling house and plot or close of land thereto adjoining situate lying and being in the said Borough of Bodmin in a certain street called Fore Street and formerly the lands of Elizabeth the wife of John Pomeroy deceased and Catherine Pennington Spinster formerly in the possession or occupation of the said John Pomeroy deceased afterwards of George John Blewett Esquire since of William Hamley Surgeon deceased and now of the said Joseph Hamley TOGETHER with all houses outhouses edifices buildings stables gardens yards courtlages ways paths passages advantages and appurtenances and the reversion and reversions remainder and remainders yearly and other rents issues and profits of all and singular the messuage or dwelling house hereditaments and premises hereby bargained and sold or mentioned and intended so to be and every part and parcel thereof TO HAVE AND TO HOLD the said messuage or dwelling house and hereditaments and all and singular other the premises hereby bargained and sold or intended so to be with the appurtenances unto the said William Courtenay and Samuel Wriford their executors administrators and assigns for the day next before the day of the date of these presents for the term of one whole year at the yearly rent of one pepper corn if demanded TO the intent that the said William Courtenay and Samuel Wriford may be in the actual possession of the said premises and be thereby enabled to accept and take a grant and release thereof to them and their heirs by an Indenture of Release intended to bear date the day next after the day of the date of these presents and to be made between the said Joseph Hamley of the one part and the said William Courtenay and Samuel Wriford of the other part IN WITNESS whereof the said parties to the presents have hereunto set their hands and seals the day and year first above written
