The Will of Thomas Tonkin, dated 26 February 1678

In the name of God Amen; I Thomas Tonkin of the parish of
St. Austell and county of Cornwall yeoman being att present
sick of body but God be praised of perfect and good memory doe
Hereby make my Last will and Testament in manner following
First I commend my soule to Allmighty God my Creator and redeem
=er and my body to Christian buriall when it shall please
God to dissolve me; And for my Temporall Estate I dispose as
Followeth
Item I give unto my Daughter Patience the sume of twenty
Pounds sterl to be paid wthin two yeares after my Decease
Item I give unto my daughter Mary twenty pounds sterll to be
Paid wthin two yeare after my Decease
Item I give to my wife margret (name inserted above line) ye next cow or hefer yt shall calve of
Mine As also I give unto my wife Margaret six Ewes and Lambs
Item I give unto my wife Margaret my bed wch I lye one dureing
Her naturall Life and after to return to my children - -
Item I give unto my wife Margaret the one third part of my
Pultry and geese, Item I give unto Katherin hambly Twenty shillings
Item I give unto my wife Margaret one brass pan of ten gallons
wth one brass Crock wch was John Commons Dureing her Life and
After her decease to return to Matthew Juey X X X X X X
Item I give unto Matthew Juey the sum of Three pounds sterll
Item I give unto John Juey the sum of forty shillings
Item I give unto John Common the sum of Thirty shillings
Item I give unto my servant William Clemans ye sum of ten shillings
Item I give unto the poor of ye parish Three shillings & four pence
Item I give unto my two sons Oliver & John all my goods and
Chattells both wthin & wthout wch were not before disposed of
And them my said sons oliver & John I make my whole & sole
Executors
Item I appoint my two brothers Andrew & Phillip to be overseers
of this my will & testament to Act in full power and Authority
for ye benefitt of my wife & Children as witness my hand &
scale this twenty six of february in year of our Lord one
