The Will of John Taunkyn, dated 1 April 1604?

John Taunkin
In the name of God Amen, I John Taunkyn of Knightor
within the pish of St. Austell in the County of Cornwall yeoman
being whole of Body and mind (God be praysed for the same) do
make this my last will and Testament in manner and forme following
First I bequeath my Soule into the merciful hands of my Sweete Saviour
Jesus Christ by the ptious merits of whose most bitter passion I have a
firme hope to be saved, my bodie I comend to the earth to be buried
Allso I give and bequeath unto my wief Forty pounds of lawfull money
of England, allso I give and bequeath unto my daughter Elizabeth
Taunkin
all my messuages lands and tenements in Penhider whin the foresaid
parish of St. Austell with all and singular their Appurtnances which
said
prmisses I latelie had of the Assignement and demise of my Brother
Richard Taunkyn who before that time had the same of my
grant
and assignement. To have and to hold all and singular the said prmisses
wth their appurtncs unto my said daughter for and during the terme
of Forty yeares now next ensuing fullie to be completted and ended
if my said daughter shall so long live or leave living at the time
of her death her husband, or child of her bodie lawfullie begotten on
And after her said state so ended or determined if shoe die
during my terme of and in the said prmisses and leave no husband nor
child then I will and bequeath all and singular the said prmisses
with their appurtncs unto Thomas Carne and John
Carne my
wiefs sonnes To have and to hold unto them and their Executors
administrators and Assignes for and during the whole remnant
of my terme therein. Allso I give and bequeath unto Richard
Taunkyn
my brother the sume of Tenn pounds of Lawfull mony of England
Allso I give to the …… of the poore of St. Austell aforesaid Twenty
shillings of good money of England, And to every one of my
Godchildren the sume of three shillings and tower pence The rest
of all my Goods and Chattells not given nor bequeathed my
legacies and funeralls aforesaid first paid and pformed I
geve and bequeath unto the said Elizabeth Taunkin my
daughter
whome I Make my sole Executor In witnesse whereof I
have hereunto put my signe and seale dated the first day of
Aprill in the tower and fortieth yeare of the Raigne of our So
veraigne Ladie Elizabeth by the grace of God Oueene of
England France and Ireland defender of the Faith :

Codicills to be added to the testamt aforesaid wch
were nuncupatively
willed after the sealing of the former Testament
