Will of John Daddoe, dated 24 January 1745

In the name of God Amen I John Daddoe of the Parish of St Austell in the County of Cornwall Taylor being weak in Body but of a Sound and perfect mind memory and understanding Do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner following –
 
First I Bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God my Creator hopeing in and through the Merritts of Jesus Christ my Saviour to be Eternally Saved and to have Pardon and forgiveness of all my Sins and my Body I commit to a Decent Christian Burial according to the Discretion of my Executor hereafter named.
 
Next Whereas my Two Children Mary and Elizabeth are very Young and having no Friend or Relation to whose Care I can comitt them have requested Richard Williams of St Austell aforesd Taylor to Undertake the same which he has kindly promised me to do In Consequence thereof I do hereby Give Devise and Bequeath unto him the said Richard Williams all my Goods Chattells Rights and Credits whatsoever and wheresoever In Trust and to and for the use and Benefitt of my said Two Children, and I do hereby make and Ordain him the said Richard Williams Executor (In Trust as a foresd) of this my last Will & Testament and my Will and meaning further is that in Case my said Two Children shall happen to dye that what Effects remains in the hands of the said Richard Williams (after all things paid) shall be Given to William Marten that now lives with me In Witness whereof I have hereunto sett my hand and Seal this 24th Day of January 1745.

The above written Will of the abovenamed John Daddow Deced was proved in Common form the 1st Day of September 1746 before the Revd Mr Wm Wadden Clk. Master of Arts Official er? ?- Admion (with the said Will A----?) of the Goods er? of the said Deced was Granted to Richard Williams the Executor in Trust named in the said Will Dureing the Minority and to the Sole Use Benefitt and advantage of Mary and Elizabeth Daddow the Two Children of the said deced and the Universall Legatoes? named in the said Will (being first Sworn er./ Saveing er.?)
 
The beforewritten Will is a True Coppy of the last Will & Testament of the abovenamed John Daddow Deced Examined and Compared with the Originall this 11th Day of September 1746 by us
