Will of William Vinson (mariner), dated 14 February 1745
 

In the name of God Amen I William Vinson marriner belonging unto his Majestyes ship Monmouth being in bodily Health and Sound and Disposing Mind and Memory and Considering the perills and Dangers of the seas and other Uncertaintyes of this Transistory life do (for avoiding Controversies after my Decease) make Publish and Declare this my last Will and Testamentin manner Following That is to say First I recommend my Soul to God that gave it and my Body I committ to the Earth or Sea as it shall please God to Order and for and Concerning my Worldly Estate I Give Bequeath and Dispose thereof as follows. That is to say All and Singular such Sallary Wages Ticketts Bounty Money Prize Money Short Allowance Money Smart Money Pensions and all other my Wages Sum and Sums of Money Lands Tenements Goods Chattells and Estate whatsoever as shall be any ways due oweing or Belonging to me at the time of my Decease I Give Devise and Bequeath the same unto my Beloved Mother Prudey Kitt of the parish of Anthony in the County of Cornwall and I do hereby Nominate and Appoint her sole Executrix of this my last Will and Testament hereby revoking all former and other Wills Testaments and Deeds of Gift by me at any heretofore made and I do Ordain and Ratifye these presents to Stand and be for my Only last Will and Testament. In Witness whereof to this my said Will I have sett my hand and Seal the Fourteenth Day of February in the nineteenth Year of the Reign of our Sovereign Lord George the Second by the Grace of God over? Great Brittain France and Ireland King Defender of the Faith etc Anno Dom 1745

The above written Will was proved in Common Form the 4th. day of November 1746 Before the Revd. Mr ?--- Hickes Master of Arts surrogate etc And Admion of all & Singular the Goods etc of the sd. Decd. and of all things howsoever Concerning his said Will was Granted to the Executrix in the sd. Will named, being first Sworne etc. (Saveing etc.)

The abovewritten Will is a True Coppy of the last Will and
Testament of the abovesd. William Vinson Examined and
Compared with the Originall this 13th. Day of November
1746 by us
