The Will of George Heale, dated 8 June 1746

In the Name of God Amen the eight day of June 1746 According to the Computation of the Church Of England I George Heale of the pish of Alternon in the County of Cornwall Yeoman being of perfect memory and Remembrance praised be God do make and Ordain this my last Will and Testament in Manner and Form following ( Viz. ) First I bequeath my soul into the hands of Almighty God who gave it hopeing that through the meritorious Death and Passion of Jesus Christ my only Saviour and Redeemer to receive free pardon and Forgiveness of all my sins and as for my body to be buried in Christian Burial at the Discretion of my Executive hereafter named. I then give unto my wife Joan Heale six pounds of Good and Lawful Money a year to be paid out of my Chattell Estate in Tregue one quarterly payment during her natural life and one of the best beds performed with bed tye blanketts and ruggs to be paid immediately after my decease. Then I give to my daughter Mary Heale the sum of One Hundred Pounds of Good and Lawful money to be paid when she shall Accomplish the full age of One and Twenty and I do hereby Bind my Executive hereafter named to take care provide and maintain my daughter Mary Heale before she shall accomplish the age of One and Twenty years. Then all my two Chattell Estates and all my Goods Quick and Dead and all the rest of my Effects that I Possess now at my Decease I give to my daughter Grace Heale and do make her my sole Executive paying all my Debts and Legacyes as of this my last Will and Testament . In Witness where I have hereunto Sett my hand and seal the Day and Year abovewritten.

The above written Will was proved in Common Forme the 28th April 1747 before The Rev.Mr Wm.Waddon Clerk Master of Arts Official etc and Admion of the Goods etc of the Deced and of all things howsoever concerning the said Will was granted to the Executive therein named/ being first sworne etc /saving etc.
